Hey Everyone - Please be patient with me - I am planning a major overhaul of the site. It's just taking some time.
Right now the big news is I'm now touring with Zappa Plays Zappa - a band lead by Dweezil Zappa performing the music of Frank Zappa.You can find the tour dates on my Gigs Page.
We
did a pair of open rehearsals recently and I got to meet Ruth Underwood
(that's she and I in the photo). She really liked the show. It was nice meeting
her as she was friends with my classical teacher from college Karen Ervin-Pershing.
Karen passed away from Cancer several years ago. I told Ruth I thought Karen
would have dug seeing me do this gig. She agreed. It was really an honor meeting
her.
Highly
acclaimed percussionist and mallet player - Billy has released his first CD
- the Hundredth Monkey on the Truemedia jazzworks label. It's a jazz/fusion
collection of nine original compositions - a unique blend of acoustic and
electric instruments. Amidst complex harmonic movement there are spellbinding
solos and intricate percussion textures as well as tranquil breathing space.
Compositionally and otherwise, Billy’s music is on jazz’s cutting
edge.
On his CD Billy brings together the ethnic and contemporary to create his own voice in music.
